Hi Rami, I checked with James and he says it won't be too much trouble too add a first fret oval inlay. Do you want just slightly larger than oval at the third fret? As to Duncan's question, we do these much like the continuous wood backplates.

Before the laminate is glued on, we have glue the bookmatch together and plot out all the positions, then scroll saw the pieces for the plates or covers and reserve them. For the truss rod cover and pickup covers, we don't glue the top together first.

Since this was the first time we did continuous wood pickup covers, we did a test cut for the bridge block area (the bottom piece in the picture). Everyone here thinks that Rami's bass looks wonderful. I just had a good customer of ours drop in and while he was here, I showed him Rami's bass, and of course he loved the pickups. I can tell that Simon's custom bass is going to share this feature.
