Maple and Purpleheart with an Ebony center lam. Ignore the silver line on the end of this board:
We love the dark color of this piece for your project - should look great with the body inlay.

cant wait to see what the chipmeister picks out the layout. its the same exact process i use when picking out glass for my tiffany lamps. try the template here there and then THAT'S IT@@@@@ - lol

After the clamps were off:
Chip made the veneers from the same board as the body laminates.

wow mica thats a nice veneer,,,is that a silver line going down the middle? its in such an infant stage its hard to imagine the final product. thanks for the post....

Yes, it's the centerline, everything is measured from that mark. You've never seen one on a finished bass, so don't worry, we'll remember to sand it off in carving.

mica- spoke to susan today... she indicated the the width of the lower bout from the bottom of the bridge is app 4. the inlay she and i discussed was going to be around 2.125 dia. i dont have photoshop but i would like to look 2.375 dia.($$$tbd)snd i placed it in what i think is a nice spot.when time allows or when its time- lol- we can go over the controls.
i would like to get the tailpiece #2 from gary's ftc please..$?
