Here's the peghead veneers in clamps:

Chip had your top in the press, so I couldn't take a photo of it tonight.

Mica,

Thanks! Can I please see a picture of the body woods when you get a chance?

Here's the body, before the top laminate is in place:

I'll get more photos soon with the top lamination.

Here's the bass in carving/rounting:

It's got some of the carving completed, and it's now ready to route. Then the rest of the carving and it's on its way to the spray booth.

Scott, Great looking instrument. We're going to be kin. I think you and I have back veneers from the same board.

That top is absolutely killer & those neck laminates are quickly becoming my favorite visual combination.

Beautiful bass!

Valentino told me you wanted to see a closer picture of the fingerboard. I actually took one when I posted on the 20th, because it's so beautiful. But the photo was blurry when I went to post. So here's a new one I took today:

And I also took this one with the routing done:

I used a flash to hopefully show more of the wood figure. It makes the Vermilion look alarmingly bright, and while it's got good color, it's not so saturated as the photo implies.

Your bass beat Michael's guitar into finish, so you get the first peek at the transformation with the sealer:

What is that combination of neck laminates anyway?

The top of this bass is simply outrageous.  Lucky stiff!
