Thanks for calling. After our discussion, here's what I came up with:

Because the Q switches and the pickup selector are different sizes, it looks a little funny to put them the sasme distance apart. Here's the layout above without labels:

and here's what I mean about putting the Qs centered at each set of controls:

It makes the Q switches look really far apart and not following that curve.   Let me know if we've got the go-ahead for a real-life drilling template.   Are you taking suggestions for your woorden knobs yet?

i like the first layout form 11/1
my only concern is the neck q right above the filter- maybe move it just a hair after 12 oclock? or
if you dont feel it will get in the way of filter changes
am ok with this
suggestions for wooden knobs? absolutely
thanks

Jeff,

It was only a matter of time before somebody asked to *see them* I suppose.  Hang in there, so to speak...  ;)

To pretend to get back on topic, this is one nice nice bass..

After we spoke last night, Jeff, I came up with this slightly different version:

Everything has a good healthy amount of room around it for fiddling, I don't think you'll hit one control on the way to another. With the pickup selector between the Q switches, it makes another logical divsion of the controls and the spacing on the inner arc of controls is even. I hope you like it!

looks great and i have one more idea that should make sense

put the bass control below the pickup selector
so it will be from right to left
mv,nv,nf bcb, bv, bf
then the qs are by their respective controls
and i cant see them interfering and in fact would let me make changes faster
so i am good with this one

Well, James is rubbing it out as we speak; if all goes well it might be ready next week.

Jeff, that doesn't sound so much like you're breathing, but if it gets you by...  ;)
