Last thing: waiting for the gold plated hardware to come back. Other than that, the bass is done.

Finishing touches:

Tailpiece is ready to fly onto bass:

Nice goldplating!  Should be out of setup today or tomorrow. I'll finish up documentary photos and testing so that we can ship on Monday. Will contact you before then to review shipping details.

I love the look of the brown basses with no accent laminates- just Walnut on Myrtle.

Really nice looking bass Bill!

Yeah, I'm pleased you see that too, Toby.  The understatement of just the walnut and myrtle, finished in oil, but dressed up with gold hardware was pretty much what I wanted.  I love the hippie sandwich under a gloss finish, but I really wanted a more retro-Alembic look for this bass.  Looks like that's how it's working out.  Plus, frankly, an understated look will carry me through more of the places and people I play with than a movie star bass (surprising how easy it is to upstage a Strat, huh?).  But, sort of stealthy, too, I hope.  You know, super powers in a mild mannered guise (LOL).

I can't wait.  I've got a couple of basses at home who've been working on their resumes when they think I'm not looking...

Great picture!  I like how the top seems to bring all of the elements of the completed bass together.
