Paul's Buckeye Burl Further Guitar
« on: July 21, 2008, 05:27:01 PM »
Here's the pictures that I emailed to you before:

And here's the one you've been waiting to see:

There probably won't be any updates for 2-3 weeks until it's in the final cure stage. But now you can see how that wood "popped" with the finish on it.

Wow!  How come every buckeye top I see instantly becomes 'the best buckeye top I've ever seen'?  Really nice- I like the flame figuring around the pickup area and near where the bridge will be.

Toby - I totally agree! That swirly top is kick @ss!  Those two dimples down near the bottom are very cool.  Gorgeous.

Mica,

I love the way its coming out.  Looking forward to the day it arrives.

Please post more pictures as soon as you can.  Also,  I would like to see the inlays that are going in as well, when you have them.

Thanks again

Paul

Halfway through finish, with the Black MOP inlays:

Next week I'll have you look at the artwork for the 24th fret inlay.

Hi Mica,

Please post some more photos.  Its so close to being done I can taste it.

I would like to see it with most of the finish, and the electronics as it comes together.

The last few coats of finish seem like the slowest.

Do not delay, photo it, finish it, and send it on its way.  (I know, keep my day job.)

Thanks

This is way too cool.

Paul

Ready to rub out:

While there's a good chance it will be done next week, it's more likely to ship on Nov 3 or 4.

Mica,

The picture does not do it justice.  You should have seen the drule (can't spell worth a ....) come out of my mouth when I first opened the box.  Its an 11 out of 10 in person.

I'm sorry to say that I had to leave it the day after receiving it to go on vacation.  Its now locked in my safe.

It will be played this holiday season, you can be sure about that.  Can hardly wait to get home.  But, it now has a brother.  I got a beautiful Stanley in Coco to keep it company.

Thanks to you, Susan, Mary, and everyone at Alembic.

Paul
