I'll take some better pics tomorrow, but I saw it was ready for final inspection today:

Either Mary or I will call you to coordinate the best receiving date for you.

The Rosewood top looks great; and the Maple sets it off nicely.

You're going to love it. I got a fretless Europa 5 earlier this year and  while the specs are somewhat different I can tell you it is the most amazing sounding bass I have ever owned or played. Here's mine:

Yea, looking forward to playing it. I have spotted your Europa on the build record while i was trying to decide what to get. Very cool looking bass! I can't wait to experience Alembic electronics with fretless: i would imagine it will blow me away...

Yea, she made me carry the un-opened box to the basment and put next to the tree. So, all i can do is look at this picture and imagine, and it's sitting in my house!?

You should at least play the check for damage during shipping card.  ;)

I would get yourself some packaging tape and open it when she's not home and then re-package. :D

John,
Playing the part of the conscience here I think it is just best to follow your wifes wishes. After all the reward should be all the better for the wait not to mention the ramifications of disobeying your real boss. Of course  should you decide the antiiiciiipation is too much the previously posted ideas might work to relieve it. :-)

Hey, i like those ideas. But, ( I can't believe i'm typing this..)Keith is probably right. After all, it's nice to have something to open Christmas morning. Do you think they will understand when i tell them, after the presents are opened, go to Grandma and Grandpa's without me because i need to stay home and practice?
