I've never been a big fan of the cone but I have to admit that it looks great on this guitar! I opted for a mini knobby peghead on my Little Darling. I think these tapered headstocks really compliment the natural flow of this particular guitar better than the standard crown. Just one man's opinion. Great choice!

Series on a Darling?  I suppose it could be a prep for Series, so we'll have to wait for confirmation.  But they are certainly some interesting looking routes.

Indeed, it is Series electronics in a Darling (though it's ever-so slightly modified). Now, there's sealer coats. You knew it was going to look gorgeous, but the difference with some finish is truly remarkable:

For me its simply a case of do not cover at any cost - highly figuered maples are my very favourite.

I vote for color Joe- I think the color really makes that figuring stand out- especially if you're not going too dark.  I loved the flame top they picked for my Elan without the amber tint, but it really pops with the color.

If you leave it as is, will the maple get darker on it's own as it ages? I've seen that on some basses, but I don't know if maple always ages like that.  
 
Either way, I'm sure it will turn out great.
