Very nice olie! This one's moving along faster than I thought. Can't wait to see the inlay work!
Happy holidays.

It's in spray now. In this photo, it's still wet, and I couldn't get around to the front.

I'll try and get one of the front soon!

WOW!, thanks Mica. It looks great. I'm anxious to see the front. The back looks better than I expected.

Truely beautiful!
I'm going to enjoy seeing (and wishing I could hear) a four- string with this much ebony/purpleheart in the neck.
Way too cool for school.

Truely amazing. The grain lines really set off the neck lams! Any hints about the inlay?
Olie you are a lucky man.
What's this gonna weigh in at anyway?

Thanks guys, I can hardly wait to se it finished or hear it.

About the inlays, I have the Holy Trinity in mind as inspiration.

Greek letters Alpha & Omega at the 3rd and 5th frets, respectively.

A cross/crucifix from the 7th to the 9th fret.

And a dove engulfed in flame at the 12th fret.

Father, Son & the Holy Sprit.

Here's the view from the front that you've been patiently waiting for:

Thanks Mica. I sent email regarding the strap locks. I'll stay with the original idea,  recessed dunlops.
I can't tell from this shot, but it does have the elbow contour corect?

Ok on the straplock plan. It does have an elbow contour.

I love the dark contrast of the grain on the front. Exactly what I was hoping for. VERY, VERY nice.

Olie--this is shaping up to be a really cool axe.  I really like the purpleheart/ebony combo in the neck.  What kind of sound, sustain, and overall resonance do you feel it will provide?

I'm also really looking forward to seeing the fretboard inlays.  The build seems to be progressing pretty fast, too--a definite bonus!

Thanks Eric.
The plan (I hope anyway, LOL) is that the 2 eBony lams and 1 extra purple heart lam will add some mid range growl and sustain to the sound. I do a lot of slap style playing and this neck should really compliment that.
It is going faster tha I expected. But the neck inlays may take some time.
