Danno, tell us more about those strings.

Do you miss highs on these DDT set? Or do they just gave you a more solid botton end?
Is more about feel under fingers (tightness) or the sound is really different (tone)?
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

A little less bright but some eq on the amp can help that. They are mainly for recording. As you all know the Alembic electronic pick up absolutely everything so there is less finger/fret noise with this set due to the tension. I tune to low b flat on my basses but I can still get the action comfortable with the versatility of the adjustments available.

I just want to say how pleased I am with the DDT strings. The sustain and tone are great. They hold their tune and it even seems like the intonation is more true than with the previous strings I had on my 2 custom Excel 5's and the Europa 5. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Not quite ready for Santa's sleigh:

Finish is all rubbed and buffed. Electronics are being wired up right now. Bridge is partly assembled there. We're hoping for a happy new year!

Dang....  Beautiful as it is.  Can't wait to see it all finished.

I love the choice for the blank fretboard given the rest of the design layout Danno.

Holy Hand Grenades! Looks very high class in the black and gold suit! Looks like my black brothers are growing in number. Thanks for the pic Mica!

A very busy bee told me that there are strings on it and the guts are done. The best thing Flip is roll with it baby, just roll.

Guts are now in...

And I'm told that things are pretty tight in there with the side jack, but everything works great.   And one of the bridge under construction:

Shall I order the sheep and rams and orangutans and fruit bats all mushed up in a bucket with the eggs on top to celebrate? Tis far too cold and wintery for a shrubbery.
