Wow! what an optical illusion! at first I thought it was lumpy bubble foam insulation.
That's incredible..

Thanks Dave! It is really wonderful. I had a 77 series 1 guitar and an 81 or 2 Electrum. As great as those instruments were, this exceeds all expectation. The way it FEELS is incredible. Alembic just keeps getting better.

Is that the cutout piece from your omega John? That really is a very cool gift. I'd have loved the cutout from my heart omega.

Yes, Graeme, it is. Since I don't have the guitar yet, I have the cut out on my desk. I need to tap it every now and again to listen to the wonderful tone of the wood recipe.

That piece of maple (I think) wasn't an optical illusion to which I think JZ will attest. When I visited the mothership a few years ago Mica showed me a piece and it's got indentations not only all over the surface but straight on through its core.  don;t know what causes the figuring though it's awfully beautiful on a guitar.

I think it would be cool to do a headstock from that piece of quilted maple, but have some of the rough edge show through.
