Hello Austin,

I don't have any pictures myself, although Mica might have some next week. She was trying to take some shots of your bass today, but was having problems with the lighting.
I can tell you that the A on the back of the headstock has been done, and James was working on the stealie inlay for the past couple of days; I think he's almost done cutting it, and will probably inlay it early next week, if not tomorrow. It's looking really cool so far.

Hey Val

Thanks for the update, i really can't wait to see the inlays. Just out of curiosity (well, kind of)..do you happen to have any idea on an ETA? I'm just asking because my family is planning a trip to San Francisco near the end of March, and I was just wondering if it would be possible for us to stop by and pick up my bass (as well as drool over, and hopefully not on, some other peoples' instruments). Maybe just wishful thinking, but there's nothing wrong with that :]
Thanks again, Val!!

Here's that A inlay on the back of the peghead:

Looks way cool. I'll have to do another body shot in setup, on the last ones autofocus failed me.

Lots more paint on it, but it doesn't show much in the photo:

James did the circular part of the front peghead inlay last week, and today I found him filing down the completed logo:

  It looks totally awesome!

Hello Austin,

you should definitely come visit us when you're in the area. I guess we COULD hold on to your bass that long, if you really want us to, but it's bound to be ready well before that. I think it should be done by the end of February, unless you    ordered gold plated hardware, in which case it might go into March (can't remember, not at work right now).

Hey Val and Mica

thanks so much for the update! I looooove the inlays...the cloud on the stealie/logo is BEAUTIFUL. I don't think I'd be patient enough to let you hold on to her after she's done...but we'll definitely stop by while we're over there, anyway. I can wait to see her in person! Thanks soooo much!!!
Austin
BTW...just out of curiosity.. what materials are the blue and red in the inlay?

That Alembic/SYF logo is the sh*t! Wow! I didn't know Mica & Co. would mod their logo like that.

Well, you've proven that one can even get a personalised Alembic logo! Not really my taste, to be honest - though obviously a lot of skill has gone into designing and creating it - but I sure hope you have many years of happy ownership in front of you.

Now about that inlaid A on the back of the peghead - that's simply brilliant. What a shame to hide it there ... I wonder how long it will be before others start ordering that on the front.

Stunning bass, here's wishing you much bliss playing it (when you get it).  The Alembic/SYF logo looks better than the one on Phil's quad bass:  really beautiful.

Hey Val
It may be a little early, but can you make sure that when my bass goes in to set up that it gets strung EADGC, instead of with a low 'B'.  I was just staring at the inlays and it crossed my mind.. dont want anybody to have to do any more work than they have already :]
Thanks man... I really cant wait to play her!
