Here's the neck of your new bass:

and a closeup of the peghead veneers:

Since you've got Ebony neck laminates, Chip used Purpleheart intereior peghead venners instead of Walnut. Looks much nicer.

The purple and black look good together; its a favorite color combination of mine.

Now the shapes come into play:

When the top is bookmatched to center, the body gets glued to the neck first. You can also see the hollowed out parts (known as "hybrid" construction in our shop).   and the traditional blurry peghead photo:

Hey, I've got one of those too! (traditional blurry peghead photo)

But based on the previous shots, it's a nice one, I really like the flow.

Wow, I haven't seen the 4-string Fan headstock before - there seemed to be only the 5-string variation! Looks great!

I agree with Jarek that the 4 string fan head looks very nice; and this bass looks especially nice with the fan head and balance K.  I think they work well together!

While it looks great, it sounds absolutely fantastic.  I would say more but its still dark and the full moon is out this saturday morning, and I got up early to play it.  OK, I'm a pretty picky, critical guy but this definitely is another league as far as fretted electric bass tone.  Plus, its gorgeous.  I'll say more latter but now its off to brew some coffee and spank the plank--that means playing the new dweedle stick, not what you were thinking, geeze some people!!!

Hello Hakim, very cool. I gravitate toward older instruments but this baby is the exception. Great overall look, well done.
