SC Sig Headstock Inlay - removing the Sig?
« on: October 04, 2006, 11:29:32 AM »
What would you think the best solution would be for someone wanting to get rid of the actual Signature on the Sig Deluxe Bass?
Its not that I dont like it but Ive been thinking of putting an inlay where it is...I imagine that to simply remove it ...a whole refin would be involved. My other qualm would be that the bass would no longer be totally original, but I think I can deal with that...

What I was thinking was that maybe a thin finished piece of Ebony can be used to cover that portion of the headstock. Using a shape that complemented the headstock and did not intrude on the logo,a shape that could also be cut around the tuners, and my inlay can actually go on the ebony and not into the actual bass itself. Although Im not sure how the piece of ebony would be attached to the bass.
Thoughts/Opinions are welcome!
Thanks

The front of the peghead can be spot refinished here. It may involve replacing the front veneer. The price is much less than a total refinish.

Email or call me and I'll be happy to discuss the details with you.
