Epic VS Orion

I am preparing to purchase a new six string, left handed with custom fretboard width in that the string spacing remains the same as my four string.  I am trying to visualize The Orion with a cone peghead.  You would happen to have any old pics with this configuration would you?  Just an idea.  I also have a question, is The Epic or The Orion neck heavy at all in a six string?  Which is less neck heavy if at all and which model will offer the most versatility in terms of tonality and playability with subtle touch and agressive playing styles.  Any recommendations will be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Both Epic and Orion models  balance quite well with 6 strings; other than the Rogue, they are probably the least neck-heavy Alembics.  In regards to versatility, tonality & playability I'd say there is no  difference. The electronics are the same and the materials (other  than the top which  can be different on every model) are also the same. Both are set-neck models; the only differences between those 2 models , in short, are cosmetic. List prices for them are also identical. If you are looking for even greater tonal flexibility you might want to consider an upgrade to Rogue electronics; those include a low pass filter w/Q switch and 3 position quick tone switches.

I guess it is a matter of choosing a body style between the two.  About how much more is the Rouge electronics upgrade?  My wife is gonna KILL me as it is when the damage is done.  This will be a test of her undying love, right?  Help me guys, I'm trying to justify this, I mean, I'd do it for her!!!!Wouldn't you?  We are on an extremely tight budget to begin with but there is a lot to be said for the unsurpassed quality of Alembic, right?  I'm in trouble!!!!

All wives (husbands) of Alembicians are now uniting in the AAAA: they are coming together 3 times a week and talk anbout their beloved and what they can do to cope with them and put some sanity in their heads again.  
 For them our brother Rami is the personalisation of all evil. They load down his picture and on their meetings they burn that picture while dancing around it mumbling strange phrases!

Hang in there buddy!!!!  I have to say that my wife is very supportive in anything I do... until it comes to buying more bass gear!?!?  Especially when she saw the UPS driver BACKING down the driveway to the garage door last week.  I thought I was done for!!  LOL!!!
Here's a secret, if you are planning on buying say a $2000 bass, budget $4000 cause you'll want to spend the other 2K on her.  
BTW-I do own an Orion 5 fretless and I'm very happy with it.  I do recommend going with the Rogue electronics if you can do it.  If not, don't sweat it, they can always be added later which I'm planning on doing myself.
Paul is right about Rami too.  My wife started to cringe when I showed her his collection!!!

No wife, no strife! 8 Alembics and counting. Preamps, cabs, protools, G4's, PA's,  Guitars, toys galore. Of course there is the downside of no extra deductions when I do my taxes and not having to appologize when I come home late from a gig. I suppose I'll muddle through as best I can. Love means never having to say What the heck do you need a $4000 bass for??!!!! Heck, marraige counselors can charge as much as that over 20 hours of treatment.

And what the hell, having an Alembic IS therapy, right?  I mean, she tells me what I want to hear and gives me wood all at the same time.  That's the difference.  Maybe there's a bit of jealousy.  It's mine, she'll just have to understand, after all, I'm a professional and without the proper tools for the job, the job never really gets done right, right?

I do have to say that there is more to being married than taxes and deductions.  The thought of cuddling with warm body at night comes to mind!?!  HA!!!  Believe me, I've spent many a long and lonely night in the comfort of my Alembics, as much as I love them... well you get the picture.  
I have all those great toys as well and I've never had to justify any of them as long as the bills get paid and there's food on the table.  It's more of a fun bickering that I get from her.  Hey, this is the same wife that encouraged me to buy my last Harley too!!!  Anyway, sorry if I painted a bleak picture of married life.  I was just poking a little fun!!!
Now, what am I going to make for dinner!?!?!?  HAH
