Alembic head
« on: September 08, 2003, 03:11:10 AM »
I?m thinking about this for a very long time.
My dream would be an Alembic head which contains the F-1x, a compressor (shelving), the SF-2, powersupply DR-5 and a 600W poweramp in one unit.
Simply connect your speakers, plug in your bass. Done. Is that possible or just a dream? Or maybe just a bad idea?

If I may ask .. why?  The advantage of separate units is that if later you decide 600 watts isn't enough you can switch out just the power amp rather than the whole thing.  I'm just guessing, but it would seem having Ron custom build such a unit would require a lot of bench time and result in a cost much more than the sum of the parts.

Also, if I were buying something like that, I suspect I'd need a good few weeks in the gym to get ready for moving it when it arrived  ;-)

So it's a bad idea? Well, ok. It was just a thought and I guess dave is right. The costs would be sky high. Never thought about that.

Well, it's not really a bad idea, after all this is the dreaming section of the club; and an Alembic version of an Eden WT-800 would be nice to have .
