Hello Jazzy,
strangely enough I have been thinking along the same lines you're thinking because of that very guitar. The least expensive guitar Alembic makes is the Orion model. That retails for 3200$. The small standard body is an extra 100$ and the crown headstock is an extra 200$. That would make it 3500$ list. That's the least expensive solution; premium woods would be extra (although there's always the special of the month, who knows?). About the electronics part, the orion comes with 2 humcanceling pickups (HG); after talking to Susan I found out that the option to have the coils tapped to get single coil/humbucker sounds is not available, since the pickups are not humbuckers but humcanceling. On the Orion you get volume, bass, treble and 3 way selector. If you upgrade to Skylark electronics (a 450$ charge), you would still get 2 humcanceling pickups but the controls would include volume, filter and on/off bright switch for each pickup; or for same 450$ you can also upgrade to Spectrum electronics; those include one HG pickup and 2 STR pickups, controls are one volume with tone filter and q switch and a 5 way pickup selector. All the pickups are humcanceling, the Hg has wider aperture, the STR are narrower and more stratlike.
