Is it possible to request custom electronics?
For example:
- Rogue elctronics without the bass+treble cut/boost. Or, putting it in another way: Essence electronics WITH the Q-switch.
- Essence electronics with bass+treble cut/boost.

I believe the answer to your question is yes, you can order custom electronics. And I believe you can indeed get Essence electronics with a Q switch and with the bass and treble cut/boost switches.

Thanks for helping, Dave. You are correct.

Count's two requests would have the same controls but a different preamp arrangement in the circuit.

The Rogue electronics have a separate preamp for each pickup. You can set the gain of each pickup with the trimpots inside.

The Essence electronics have one preamp for both pickups. You can set the overall gain with the Essence with the internal trimpot.

The price is determined by a number of factors, so we should talk about that when more of the project is defined.

There seems to be a bit of difference in volume between the bridge and neck pickups on my sc. I have adjusted the height of the pickups. Noticing what you are saying about adjusting the electronics in your message above Mica, I would imagine there are adjustments I can make to the pickup outputs on my SC Signature bass. Do you have any info you could email me so I can do this?

You've got all the info you need - just turn up the gain on the filter control for the pickup that's too soft or turn down the one that's too loud. Nuthin' to it.

With this arrangement you're free to adjust the height of the pickups without regard to output. Some set the height for comfort, others for the slightly different sound you get with varying heights. Either way, you don't have to worry about the output since you can get the gain separately.

Forgive my ignorance but where are these filter controls? behind the back cover or under the pickup covers??? Are they marked up, if not how will i recognise them??

Take off the backplate and you'll see two small blue and white trimpots staring back at you. These are mounted on the same boards as the filter (tone) control knobs are attached.

Here's a shot of an Orion electronics cavity. You'll see two similar controls to this in your bass:

Don't worry... once you check it out you'll see it's an easy task. And oh yes - you'll just need a small blade screwdriver to do the adjustment.
