I refurbished one of my oldest selfbuilt guitars
« on: May 06, 2004, 12:48:06 PM »
This week I finished refurbishing the guitar that my boss refers to as The ogre I built this solidbody guitar a few years back with the intention of making a cross between a Gibson les Paul and a Fender telecaster. It used to be very roughly finished in silverburst and it had three dimarzio pickups. But then I decided to give my Telepaul a complete overhaul, make a better pickguard, snad down the body smooth and refinish it in three tone sunburst, this is the result. You switch pickups with a ballance pot rather than a conventional switch.

Dag Wouter,
Nice job you've done there. I think the balance pot works pretty fine on guitars too, I used to use it on one of my customed guitars (which nowadays hangs around in pieces in my parents home, should be working on that one sometime soon). Beats me why it's used so seldom

groetjes, Joram

another shot of my Telepaul not too clear but it shows off the depth of the sunburst a lot better.

Blazer;
Before: I think I shot your guitar while it and I were playing Quake one time. I didn't want to, but it jumped out at me.
After: Confusing to the traditionalist's eye, like a Robin, but nice. Needs a Blastor pre, tho (grin).

Hey KFS, I bet there aren't many Q players around here.  But if you're interested check out my Q2 levels, I made these a few years back...
