Would Alembic consider modifying a Guild Starfire with Series I or II electronics and pickups, a la Phil's Big Brown?

I searched the archives, but couldn't find an answer. This thread came closest, but contained only speculation, no response from Alembic.

They might do it, if you can afford it. My Starfire is a work in progress. I have Bartolini triple coils in it and just added the John East designed ACG-01 preamp. It's a low pass filter setup (one for each pickup) very similar to the Series II arrangement with a few differences. It goes lower (70hz instead of 350) and doesn't go as high (3khz, instead of 6khz), but it also has a high pass control that can be fed from either pickup or blend, and it is adjustable from 2khz to 10 khz. It's a great preamp and can nail the Europe '72 tone pretty easily. My next step is to add some Dark Star pickups and an Alembic (or maybe it's a Star's Guitars) bridge that I got on ebay. Here it is as it stands:

Here's my little 70's-Phil Time Machine...

It's a DeArmond with Dark Stars and a chrome-plated brass bridge and tailpiece made by Michael Dolan.  I have Pyramid Gold flats on it, and then run it through my Superfilter and F1X. This gives basically the same capabilities as onboard filters but puts the weight in my rack and not around my neck.  It's perfect for the alt-country band I'm playing in right now. Plus the drummer is also a Deadhead and it always makes him giggle when I first turn it on.  It easily nails the Europe '72 sound.

Good to see you around Charles-

How's the inlay coming on the dragonfly?  Everytime I see an FTC update, I find myself hoping it's for your bass.

BTW: The Rogue is still killing me- I restrung it with those Sunbeams- just wanted a change and I'm loving it.

Hi Toby! Great to hear you're still diggin' it!  As for the inlay, it is allegedly quite close.  Maybe pics soon... thanks for reminding me I need to harass Mica ;-)
