Much depends on the wood recipe you will select.  Your personal preferences of color are also factor.  Keep in mind, purple is now available.  The folks at the mother ship are very kind in helping you out with matters like this.

Another consideration.  Red has little effect on night vision, blue is probably the brightest and blindingest (is that a word?).  If you want to play in the dark and still be able to see the readouts on your pedals, rack, etc., you might want to think about getting red for the sides.  I have red on my 77 Series 1 12 String, and red with double ambers at 12 & 24 on my custom Further.  I can play in the dark and my eyes still adjust to the darkness in spite of the LEDs.

If I were facing this decision, I would be very tempted by purple with blue at the 12th and 24th.

Do you work with a light geek?  If (s)he tends to blue gels, get red LEDs.  The vice would, of course, also be versa.

I wear Sunglasses even in the dark when I play. I like the Ray Charles and Stevie look.

I spend my nights playing in dark theaters and blue works out great and looks great. I Have one with a cocobolo top and one with a rosewood top both with all blue side leds. John

One warning on blue LED's is they are very bright. I had to increase the resistor size to tone them down to my liking. If you decide to go with them I suggest you have Alembic install an intensity  adjustment pot when you order. This will let you set the brightness to where you like it. On the other hand the red LED's are just fine as they are.

I made the final cut! Blue face LEDs and blue side LEDs with amber on 5th 12th 24th. Dimmer control for each! Hope it looks good.

That will look great with the cocobolo! What body shape did you decide on?

i know i'm late, but i actually have the first bass that had blue leds put in, and they are BLINDING indeed. but, they look great (the bass is an excel with an ebony top) and that's definitely what i'd go for if i were to place another order.

The blue LEDs we use now are not as bright as the ones in your bass, Austin, but still the blue seems the brightest to me. Armed with double dimmers, you should be fine, Alan.

I always liked the blue color for LEDs.  Glad to know they have been toned down.
