How much for SC standard or Distallate?
« on: March 02, 2011, 02:14:37 PM »
Hi,
I admit it ! I'm addicted i bought last years beautiful and unique custom Excel 5. While a was looking on this forum for a potential trade with a 4 strings. I figured out that i'm just crazy of this basses. I had in my range the basic models Excel, Epic or Orion. My attention went on the SC standard and the distillate models wich i find very beautiful and i think shorter scale would be great for me. My question is what should i expect to pay for those models and if it's possible to think of a fair trade with a 5 string excel with 2 fatboy pickups , filter and Q switch in quite good condition. If not how much should i expect to add in cash?

i'm no expert on SC standards but I THINK Distallates sell for $2000-$2500 and would expect something similar for a SC standard(someone correct me if I'm wrong). As far as trading, it all depends on what someone is looking for or willing to do. The filter and Q-switch will attract more potential trades since that is a huge trademark of the Alembic sound. Being an Excel, someone might want some money in the trade but wouldn't expect it to be much. Then again I could be completely wrong about everything I said :p. Good luck with your hunt!
