Does Alembic do any carving to the body like you see on the Scott Walker guitars? I thought I saw a picture of #1 with carving on the back. I did a search for carve, but mostly came up with irrelevant (but interesting) threads. Here is an example of what I am talking about

I assume this would have to be at least a double thick laminate. Has anybody seen pictures of Alembic's with carvings like this on them? Todd.

and there is the one from But I don't recall seeing of any pictures of recent models with elaborate carvings like that. There is the johnny Winter Alembic guitar.

I believe that is the back-side of Alembic #1.

At least, that is what it says here

That is the back of #1 and we do carving on special request.

The Tribute guitars have a carved top, and the Kit guitar has a little curly-cue carving detail on the upper horn. Any other carving is done on a custom basis.

It's not really a carved top - the edge is routed with an ogee profile - the top is completely flat. But it does have a carved look to it.

Did someone say 'Round Rock'? I'll be down there for Easter and a couple other times during the year. Hmmm, interesting thoughts . . .

To keep on topic. The guitar in the first post made me think of David King basses (although, he's carved back on the body options - groan, no pun intended). Not sure it's for me, but it looks nice while still holding to a 'traditional body shape as in the above pic.

Looks like someone else liked body carving. See here on ebay. How well do you think it will clean up?

The Johnny Winter Alembic has some interesting carving.
