I am now the proud owner of the 1982 Spoiler with flamed Koa body. Serial No. 82 S2380 USA.
Purchase price was Euro 1,375 (approximately 1,760 U.S. Dollars. Guitar in excellent condition and playing superbly.
What data is on the Alembic file ?

Congrats! is this one with the Spoiler Decal? And what do you mean with series 2? (in your profile) If yours has series 2 electronics 1375 euro is a real bargain!

Here's what I found out about your bass:

Spoiler SMB4

body: Solid Koa
neck: 3-piece Maple
fingerboard: Ebony
pickups: AXY
controls: volume, filter, Q-switch, pickup selector switch (SB-II electronics*)
originally made for: Rainbow Music
birthday: December 10, 1982

The original owner of this bass lived in Michigan.

Hi Mica,
thank you for the data on my Spoiler. I'll make sure that it is well looked after in its new home in Ireland. To own an Alembic in Ireland is to be a member of a rather unique club. I think that there is probably not more than 6-8 Alembic owners in the whole country!
