I just happen to have the file pulled from my recent discussion with the seller of this bass.

top: Figured Walnut
body: Maple
neck: 3-piece Maple, 34 long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid oval inlays
pickups: PJ
controls: volume, pan, filter, Q-switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono output
birthday: not recorded, but likely late July 1990
originally made for: Guitar Center

There is no history of previous registered owners or repairs, but based on the appearance of the bass compared to the build record, there have been at least 2 repairs.

1. The output jack has been replaced with a Strat style.

2. The peghead has been modified from its original shape.

These repairs look functional enough from the photographs. They are constistant with what happens when a bass is plugged in and left on a stand unattended. Later, someone walks by and trips on the cable. The bass tumbles. The front mounted jack can suffer damage from a fall. The Strat style jack plate would cover this. The peghead can get damaged from bouncing around. If the joint at the nut is not damaged, any more or less decorative damage can be repaired as seen on this bass. A typical Elan pegehad looks much more like this:

To restore the peghead to original is possible, but will cost $450 at today's prices to scarf a new peghead in place and spot refinish.
