(x) F-2B, Circa OLD!

I was gifted an F-2B. On the back of the unit is a hand stamped 4-digit serial number. It is 4041. Know anything about it? I'd love a production date, that way I can confirm I am using gear that is twice my age because that's awesome.

Congrats! You've got a great piece of gear there.

There's a couple of things that can help - does it say where it was made? I assume it's a blue one as opposed to a black one?

Thanks!
Yes sir. Blue chassis, with the black front. It has the Alembic, Inc. Santa Rosa, CA printed on the back, but that is all I can find. Is there anything else I can tell you?

Alembic moved to Santa Rosa in 1979, so it's no older than '79.

To give some perspective, my F2B is serial number 459 and is marked San Francisco. It also has a very large power switch. I had another that was a little higher and marked Sebastapol.
