Here is a link to the basses that have been reported stolen to Alembic. It does not appear on this list. However that does not guarantee it is not stolen.

Do you have any additional information that might be used to identify the bass? Pictures? Where is the bass supposed to be located? How did you find out about the bass?

A common scam on e-bay is to take an old auction and send a second chance offer. Another thing is they steal an old auctions pictures and use them in a new scam auction.

Hi Keith, thank you for your comment. I have asked for more pictures as he had in the adv. He could provide them. I don't know how to attach the mailing to this message, if you can give me your e-mail I can forward it.

I received these pictures from Baardman. The asking price is approx $1950 US (2800 Singapore). The sellers name appears to be a Derick Chow in case anyone knows him. It is also stated that the neck pickup has been replaced with an EMG and as the pictures show the bridge pickup mount is broken. I'm not sure it is worth the asking price based on the this but will leave that to folks that follow prices more closely than I.    Keith

Thank you Keith for taking all this trouble. I will wait for any comments on the price issue. Your opinion on escrow service might be a good idea, I have no experience with that. E-Bay and Paypal allways worked out fine

Kindest regards,
Onno Baardman

Ps, actually I was (and still am..)searching for a nice series I or II, early years, 5 string.

I already am the proud owner of an essence 4, an Orion 5 and a MK 4str. Next to that I'm totaly flabbergasted about he sounds of another bass I own, an afterburner 6str. by Dingwall. A totaly different instrument with the fanned frett system. It's really amazing!

Intriguing bass!  The fretboard looks nice.  Since the bridge pickup has been swapped for an EMG, then I would want pictures of the control cavity to see if anything else was changed.  At the very least, and hopefully most, new pickups will be needed.

Yes - pretty much everything except Series I/II. We don't use it anymore.
