Hi, I got it as used today and became an Alembic owner. Its undeniably cute look captured me for a moment. Then I searched here a lot, but nothing came obvious. Please inform me about her and let know about 3/4 spoiler model. Is small standard body with single pick up regular spec? How many built? I'm curious!

LOL , I have a Cyclops 1981 single pickup export Distillate 32scale. The electronics are mounted on a brass plate .

Yes, those Distillates are pretty popular here.
This baby might be sold as a Stanley Clarke model on the market.

I don't know if I'd label it a Stanley Clarke model~ it definitely has that same small-standard body shape, but the R in the serial number dictates that it is in fact a Spoiler..... Even today, it isn't uncommon for a customer to order an Essence with a 30.75 scale and small standard shape.

Regardless, that is an awesome bass you've got there!!!! Cyclops~ lol

top: Zebrawood
accent: Maple laminate
body: Mahogany
neck: 3-piece Maple with 2 Walnut pinstripes
scale: 30.75 short
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickup: 1 AXY
controls: volume, filter, Q switch, mono output
finish: satin rubout
originally made for Rokkomann, Inc., Kobe, Japan
birthday: October 28, 1993

Rokkomann, Inc. was our distributor in Japan for many years. They wanted to have a lower priced short scale bass to offer since the Stanley Clarke models were so popular in Japan. I don't have any records of the exact number made, but my guess is less than 30 pieces.

It's not considered a Stanley Clarke model, though the body shape and scale length are the same as a Stanley Clarke model.

There are also 3/4 Spoiler models, but this bass is not one of them.

Many thanks for detailed information!

There are some confusion between SC signature and small standard body shape with short scale.
It seems that even sellers here don't have general knowledge about Alembic.

I like the sound brought out from its only one pick up, but may replace to Fatboy.
(and it could be great with EMW circuit)

I'm looking forward a new 6 string I sent inquiry to Hajime.
