My second Alembic which I just received. Hmm...I suppose I should've checked with y'all first.
Nevertheless! I loved my first but had to give it up due to finances- a SC 01?

with flat-sawn Zebra wood top that according to the first owner would be the last such top made by Alembic (per Mica). Uh huh...
However Fate has looked upon me kindly and bless her I found this beauty which I am told was most recently owned by one George Hughen bassist for Black Oak Arkansas in its most recent incarnation.

Scale length - 34

Oh, and the blue box and cable appear to be original as well (my lord, I hope they are).
Do I really now own a Series 1? Is this a dream?

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum. That is a beautiful bass. Wondered who the lucky buyer was on that Series instrument. Congratulations! Yeah this bass must've had my name on it, as the next bidder ended up being scary close to my final price.
Actually no the wood card is gone- that information came from the owner, so I'm glad you mentioned it as that info should be confirmed (though they seem correct).
I was up until 3 AM playing- I couldn't put it down and just go to bed!
The 34+ year old electronics on this bass leave me near breathless.

Still more than enthralled by this bass- I think it's the quality of the electronics and their handmade quality that continually surprise and please me.
I suppose or hope (Hope! What we need Tuesday!) that Mica will be reviewing my request soon?

It makes no sense, and in a way I'm glad it does: that a 1976 P bass will fetch the same money as my Stradivarius, I mean 'bic. I've owned a 63 jazz (superb) and a 77 p bass, and the latter was a terrible build.

Knock wood, I don't care what financial detours befall me, this is the bass I've wanted since 1977 when I was 16 and now I own it!!!

The details seem to cross to what I found in the file. The only thing is they didn't record the core wood.

Also, the birthday is September 27, 1978 and it was originally sold to Rothchild.

The original power supply was serial number 468, so you can see if that checks with what you have in hand.
