Hello, hoping for some info on this 82 distillate, 82D 2198. It has custom options like chrome hardware and red led's, and also an amazing top. Apparently it was for sale here, but i picked it up from another forum.

Congratulations , this is a very nice Distillate . I went to take a look at it when it was in San Francisco and for sale at the time  by an owner who had had sent it to Alembic for restoration . I might have ended up  with this Bass but shortly after  another Alembic Bass was  dropped  into my lap. It seems that that this one has changed hand a few times over the last 2 years . I think that this is a really awesome Distillate !  I hope that you will enjoy .

Thanks Wolf. It really is amazing, the condition that it is in...
not a ding on it. Only current issue is a tiny bit of fret sprout, which I plan on having addressed shortly. Going to have my first gig with it this coming wednesday.

There's actually some details from the file that were not in the tally of featured in the previous thread.

In 2000 we did a MAJOR restoration and customization project on this bass:

1. refinish
2. added the back laminate
3. reveneered the front of the peghead
4. recessed the truss rod cover
5. new pickups
6. added the side jack
7. filled a hole on the bottom of the bass from straplock experimentation
8. installed side LEDs
9. chrome plated hardware (had to replace some items)
10. new knobs and switches
11. new chrome straplocks
12. new case (old one was donated)
13. new machine heads

Then in 2010, another owner had us:
1. connect the front LED to the side LED power source
2. change bridge screws to stainless steel
3. flipped the bridge rails (apparently they were upside down either from the previous service or sometime since then)
4. RF upgrade
5. replaced volume and filter pots
6. replaced battery connector for main electronics

A couple of details not on the other thread:
originally made for: Arnold Morgan Music
birthday: Sept 1, 1982

I show three previous owners to you, Doug.

Oops! Didn't see this other thread which is actually the one I was supposed to reply to. So it looks like there were four previous owners of this bass.

I also see a note that we stamped the serial number in the cavity while the bass was here in 2010 as a backup to the one on the fingerboard.
