Hi, great news on your purchase. if you want a quick response, the best thing is to put some photo's on here and members will definitely chip in and share their knowledge on the  model, woods and features etc.  Mica will get to this thread later when her schedule allows but it could be weeks before this happens. When it comes to Alembics we often find that we are very impatient to know the details of our basses. So I would recommend get some pics up here and you will be surprised at how quickly you will get some feedback.

The serial number confirms your description and shows that it was the 11068th alembic made by the company.

Is this your first Alembic?

Yes, first one. I'm using a Warwick Thumb now. It's a good bass but a little weak above the 12th fret. I don't actually have the bass yet, just bought it on ebay. I told myself i would never buy a bass i haven't played first but there you go. I hope it wasn't a big mistake.

I have bought a number of alembics without playing them and all were shipped in from another country and apart from one guitar that shook the electronics loose. That was because the case was the wrong size for the guitar. All were in great condition and undamaged when they arrived even though none were in a flightcases.

The best part is plugging in and hearing it for the first time.
keep us in touch with your progress with it.

I bought my Series I before it was even done, so no one heard it. Best bass I've ever bought! My only problem with it is that I can't decide what strings to keep on it, so I keep switching sets out. Maybe I need three! One for DR flats, one for Ken Smith Compressors and one for DR Sunbeams.

Hi Tom, congrats on the SC - that's a mighty fine looking bass!

More info on the electronics can be found on the Signature Controls page in the FAQ section of the Club.

Have fun!
