The Rogue should have two trim pots, and you can go ahead and experiement with the levels until you can get your Rogue to match the output of your Essence. Go ahead and crank them up some and test to see if you are clipping.
Since there are two trimpots in the Rogue, make sure that your pan/blend control is still working so the extremes are the same volume when you are done.
You might also compare the pickup heights of the two basses. If the Essence's are closer to the strings, the output can be greater for a similar trimpot setting.
If you are unable to get the Rogue up to the level of the Essence without clipping, then reply with the serial numbers of both basses and we'll start digging deeper into a possible cause.
