Adding Alembic script to headstock logo
« on: January 12, 2007, 07:45:28 AM »
Mica/Val,

I would be very interested in adding the Alembic script in silver underneath my silver Alembic logo on the peghead of my Series 1 bass.

Could you tell me how much that would cost and how I could order this item?

Sorry, Duncan. Logos and scripts can only be added at the factory.

I think,If I remember correctly, one of the reasons  Alembic don't send out logo's is to reduce the chance of people passing off non-alembics as the real thing.

Is there a pic of your bass on the forum? I'm just being nosey :-)

Yes Jazzyvee, I realize that. It just would have been nice to add the script without having to ship my bass from The Netherlands to the factory for that reason. That would be a bit too pricy ;-)

My bass is right here:

Its a really nice looking set of basses you have there. They look in very good condition and yes the alembic script would be a nice touch to complete the look. Maybe if you are planning to go on holiday there, you could organise it as part of your trip. I'm fairly sure they could give it some priority if you did. :-)

Just my opinion, but I really like the logo without the script. It seems subtler to me and looks cleaner, but maybe it's just because I've grown up with instruments that didn't have it.

YMMV, etc.
