F-1X has very low output

The output of my F-1X is very low. I've followed the advice (jack-cersizing and cleaning) in the Must Reads/FAQ to no avail. When I A/B it (for comparison) with the A channel of my F2-B with identical settings, the output is signifantly lower. Even at full volume, the output is not sufficient. I normally run the F-1X to a QSC PLX1202 (bridged) and an SF-2 thru the effects loop.

I had a similar problem with my Eden Navigator. It turned out to be fried transistors in the output circuit caused by someone putting phantom power through the DI. Just one of many possibilities.

Did this decrease in output suddenly happen or has it been decreasing over time?
 
Did the decrease happen while the preamp was stationary or did it happen after it had been moved?
 
Are all the output jacks experiencing the same decrease?
 
Open it up (being careful not to electrocute yourself) and look around for anything like Graeme suggested; something that looks burned.
 
Check that the big capacitors are securely attached.  Over time the foam padding that hold the big caps in place will wear out and the capacitor leads may work loose.
 
Check that the tube is securely seated.  If you move your preamp around a lot, i.e. play a lot of gigs, it can work loose.
 
One thing that you can try is to replace the tube with one from your F-2B.
