Replacing a Master Volume Pot on a Series II Bass

I've done a search, but couldn't find a thread that explained how to do this.
 
I recently got a Series II, and unfortunately, the master volume pot is broken.  I received a new one from Alembic today.  I went to install it, but it doesn't look to be something I can do on my own.  I was hoping it would be push fit, but it doesn't look to be that way.  Also, I can't seem to budge the plastic sleeves that go over where the wires attach to the pots...
 
Any thoughts or advice?  Should I just bring it to a tech?

You probably want to take it to a tech.  You'll need to be able to solder to replace a pot.  
 
The little plastic sleeves that you refer to is heat shrink insulation tubing that prevents shorts against the terminals in the cavity.  You can't pull them back and there's no tab underneath.  The tubing is a special plastic that shrinks tightly when heated (it was 2x that diameter before heating).  You cut a small piece of heat shrink tubing and slide it over the wire before you solder it to the pot.  After the solder joint is completed, you slide the tubing down over the connection, then heat it and it shrinks to tightly fit over the connection.
 
The good part of all this is that this is a relatively simple task for the repairman, unless he decides to try to figure out everything that's going on in the compartment (there's at least 4X as much stuff in there as I've seen in any other instrument).

I solder so infrequently that I'm not going to chance a mistake on an Alembic!
I'll get it to a tech as soon as I can.  The good thing is that the bass still works fine other than the volume pot.
