Bridge wobble 79 series 2 guitar
« on: March 14, 2008, 03:44:47 PM »
The bridge moves forward and back from the stand posts going into the brass plate platform. I had to use 2 nuts to screw down and lock the thing in place after height adjustment. Other than just age or wear is there any other reason for this? The base is secure; the whole thing is tight all the way around it just moves?

Pretty guitar!

Does it move once it's tuned up and you are playing? The bridge design makes it tilt slightly toward the nut when the tension is on, but it shouldn't be wiggling when you are playing. When the strings are off, you might be able to wiggle it some.

It's possible the threads have worn, but it's usually not an area that sees tons of adjustment. Next time you change the strings, can you take off the bridge and show a clear picture of where the bridge mounts and another one of how you corrected it with extra nuts?

Did this guitar have a Roland pickup installed before?

I agree Mica, that is a lovely looking guitar.
I'm just waiting for the right one to come along at the right price or a good lottery win. :-)

i have the bridge out  the posts (screws) are to short, the brass block that is the base is recessed where the posts go in and together with the short screws they only go in at the most 1/8 that is why it wobbles, no stability.  are there longer screws available maby oversize that i can cut or what is the thread size?
