Where did Alembic #001 finally wind up?
« on: July 17, 2015, 02:14:19 PM »
Hi:  I'm FB friends with Rick Turner who has given us so much along with the Wickersham's, and he mentioned Alembic #001 now resides in (removed) or nearby.  Anybody have any info on it? (especially after seeing in a museum Jack's Guild with the quickly added electronics after his main Guild was stolen)  I know the final conversion was with Series II electronics and the neck was fixed

There's a thread about it in the Artist section of the Showcase.

I'm pretty sure I read on here, the owner of Alembic #1 wishes to remain anonymous.

Here's a longer thread on the bass for you... http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/2565.html?1417971005

I edited your message because regardless of the bass' current location, it's the current owner's wish to remain private. Thank you for respecting his wishes.

It would be exceedingly coolif he could be persuaded to put it on carefully secured display for a while.  Why not at the Mothership?  This is perhaps the most significant bass guitar of the last 50 years, and what better place to do so?
