No reply from Alembic inc. Santa Rosa
« on: March 22, 2009, 09:28:14 AM »
Hi everyone,

As I've had some issues with the preamp card of my Series I bass, I decided to send it some 2 months  ago (January 26th) to Alembic's for mending, after getting an email from the Alembic Help Desk from which I followed every indication about how to proceed when sending such an item from France to USA.
I thought it would take at least 10 days before it gets delivered.
But unfortunately, I haven't had any news ever since, even after sending 3 emails to Alembic asking if they had received the preamp card.
So I decided to complain to my local post office thinking the package had been lost. But last Friday, I received a letter from the same post office informing me that the US local post office had confirmed the delivery to Alembic Inc. Therefore, I cannot claim for refunding from insurance.
Please, if someone from Alembic reads this message, would you mind helping me and confirming (or not) that you received the preamp card from my Alembic Series 1 (serial number 77-617) ?
Thanks in avance.
Best regards.

Fabien

Hi Fabien; you might want to try calling.  The number is listed here.  I think the best time to call is between 10:00am and 4:00pm Pacific Daylight Savings Time.

It appears that Mica will be away from the office for a few days; so you may want to wait until Thursday or Friday before calling.  More time to practice!

Hi again Dave

I guess I won't need to call them as I've just checked my credit card bank account and it shows a debit from Alembic CA for my preamp card.
I guess I now just have to wait and check my letter box ! Good news !

Thanks again for your help

I need to order ASAP some parts(i need this part before apr. 5th) for Alembic Rogue
I'm not shure about name of this part -it is round, red cylinder, with markings 015-(probably capacitor). It's sitting right on top of 2-way switch.I will send you a picture of that broken part.I would like to know-what kind of part is it and how to contact to Alembic to order it?
Thank you,
Best regards

Hi Natalia; as alluded to above, Mica, Susan and Mary have been focused on a non-work related issue that has taken them away from the office for the past several days.  While this issue is still on-going, it appears to me at the moment that some aspects of the issue have been resolved and that tomorrow, Thursday, may be a good time to call.

It is a resistor. Take it out and over to an electronics dude. They should be able to measure it with an Ohmmeter and give (sell) you a suitable replacement.

Hello Natalia,

That part is capacitor, as you thought. It's an axial lead type with a value of .015uF. It may be a polystyrene cap, but I'm not sure about that. Here's a related thread:
