I've never adjusted the trimpots on any of my guitars or basses. Clockwise increases gain? Thanks.....

I turned neck PU down and bridge PU up as there is less string excursion at that area.
I agree a little does a lot!!!

And changing the PU height can modify the tone a lot, too...
