Sending in to Mother ship
« on: October 12, 2009, 01:16:57 AM »
My '75 S1 bass is in serios need of some TLC for it's electronics.
I've tried sending in just the card but it wasn't enough.
It's been to 5 different local repair guys one of which claimed to be a master in Alembic issues but still no go.
I really wanna send her in but I'm in Canada and am a student with some limitations funds wise.
Does any one know roughly how much some electronics repairs might run me?
and how long will I be parting with her?

Thanks in advance for any input
Dan

What's the problem?

Nice looking bass! Looks like the one pictured in my old 'guitar electronics for Musicians' book.

We may be driving to the Mother Shiop soon ourselves and taking my 79 S1.

Bye,
Dave

Best idea is to call and talk directly to Mica.

You can discuss the issues you're having and she might be able to offer alternatives to sending the whole instrument. In any case, she would be able to give you a far better idea of how long things would take.

Hope you can get it working again soon. It's a beautiful bass!
