My F-2b died

Black frame red knob version.
I have no power light come on. No sound.
Tried changing the fuse,  still nothing.
I sent a mesage to service, but haven't had a reply yet.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I wonder if the power cable might have a break in it somewhere. It's a pretty simple circuit. A dumb question, but do you know that the replacement fuse is good (I've tried to trouble shoot things only to find that the replacement part is also bad.)?

Well after  a week of not working, it is suddenly working again.
Even stranger??  Any other thoughts?

As Edwin suggested, a good place to start is with a visual inspection of the power cable.  Are the prongs on the plug end solid, not loose?  Is there any fraying of the cable at the plug end?  Any fraying where the cable passes through the chassis?  Are the connections from the cable to the components inside the chassis in good condition?
 
Note: unplug the cable before opening the chassis; and remember that even unplugged there are components in the chassis that can cause serious electrical shock.
 
With the cable unplugged, you can also use a multimeter to check that current is running through each of the wires of the power cable from the prongs to the chassis connections.
 
You might also check to see if the fuse is seated properly.

You guys are right.
 
It must be the power cable, as It cuts in and out when I move the cable around.....
 
must be because it is so old and fatigued inside the insulation.It is serial number 874.
 
So now all I have to do is go to the hardware store and buy a new power cord.
 
I am so relieved and was so upset that my beloved Alembic was not working.
