Repair shops in Northern California

I have an 82 Alembic Spoiler.  OUt of the blue it started a bad hiss which is louder when the pickup is in the neck position.  Is there an easy way to fix it.  If not can anyone reccommend a repair shop in the central California area (Merced, Modesto, Fresno, Sacramento?)

Have you tried calling Mica at Alembic direct, she may be able to talk you through a solution.

You can mail the electronics to Alembic but why not just make a three day weekend to the wine country and take the bass to Alembic yourself on a Friday or Monday?

That trip to the wine country sounds like a good idea. I wonder if they could fix it on the spot.  I have a gig Friday night though and was hoping for a quick cure.  Otherwise ill be playing a piece of junk I have to borrow just to get through the show.  And the price of going to the wine country is a factor.  I'm saving for a trip to Europe. But thanks for the input. I would really love to see the factory.  I sent them an email...so we'll see.
