A few years back I had the guy who designed and built the electronics for the spellbinder basses install a customised version for me into my first Europa bass.

Initially I thought it was great but gigging with it I've been frustrated by it in many ways and as a result have not been too keen to play that bass. Anyway today I put the original alembic europa guts back in the bass. Unfortunately during the process the cables broke off in the crimp connectors attached to the pickup cable. So I need to find a couple of these connectors or at least the lugs to fit to the ends of the cables. At the moment I've soldered wires to the crimp-on lugs so it's working fine but obviously I want to do the job properly. If you can tell me what the exact name is for the connectors are I can search them out on-line or at my local Maplin shop. So far I've drawn a blank.

ALOT of providers of active electronics use if not exactly the same then similar connectors.
I fixed up a set of Jazz Activators with connectors from an EMG kit.

Google molex interconnect catalog
Molex is the company that manufactures that type of connector. The plug you are looking for is common.

As mentioned, the connectors used here are very common - the square pins on the board are 0.10 (2.54mm) apart, the most common size from the 1960's through 2000.

I believe the specific connectors are Molex KK in 2.54 mm spacing, 2 contacts x 1 row.

The connectors themselves are cheap, but the problem is that if you want to install the connector properly, you need a special crimping tool to attach the contact to the wire. You'll need to find somebody with the crimper, or send them pickups back to Alembic to get them installed.

We also can supply a pre-crimped length of wire that you can have sliced and shrink tubed to your existing lead. These are relatively cheap. I'll email you, Vince.
