Loose Case
« on: December 16, 2015, 08:25:52 AM »
Hey guys and gals.  There is some play even when all 3 locks are snapped shut.  It worries me a little because of the gem I carry in it.  Awhile back someone posted a picture of a leather reinforcement strap affixed on one side perpendicularly to the length of the case that would snap to the other side.  If you know where that thread link is, please send it so I have an example of what I want the leather shop to make for me.  Thank you!

Here's Flip's (fc_spoiler) Showcase thread for his Series I... about halfway down you'll see the auxiliary straps on his case. No clue where they came from.

Flip's straps look good , nice work . They look custom perhaps .
I have been using those suit case straps that one can purchase in a luggage store.

Jazzyvee , those are the ones ! I pass the strap through directly under the case handle so that it limits slippage off the case .

I think it's about time those vintage suitcase type locks and  handles  are scrapped for something more secure especially taking account of the weight of alembic basses that they are intended to carry and protect.

Mary has asked the case company to provide our cases with three of these latches and we are much happier with them.

All the cases in our last order came like this  No more sliding locks.

Yeah, 100% improvement there! :-)

I'll post some pictures of the straps on my case later.
