Hi I'm Jerome ,I own an Alembic Persuader and also have a Signature Deluxe under construction.Ive played all the clubs and hotels and casino's in New Orleans .So now I play for the Lord In front thousands every week . What I'm saying is you hav'nt done nothing until you praise the Lord in you music.........

Welcome to the club Jerome. I don't know whether you are aware or not, but there are several members in the club who participate in gospel music ministries, myself included. When should we expect to see a few pictures of the PERSUADER Jerome?

I will post a pic of my Persuader soon as I adjust and configure my scanner.But there is nothing like the Alembic sound thundering through a congregation in Praise and worship.....Awsome

I play my Mark King w/Series II electronics at church services. Of course given the size of the church it takes a few months for me to be able to say I've played in front of thousands.

Jerome, can't wait to see pix of your Persuader.

I play at an 8:00 AM service at 1 church and an 11:00 AM service at another, and in both cases have gotten numerous comments from fellow musicians and from church members on the incredible sound of my bass since I switched from my Tobias to my newly acquired Mark King.

I agree with you Jerome, the combination of Praise and Worship and an Alembic is something to behold.

Definitely get those pics of your Persuader out there..will keep a look out.

One thing I can add regarding comments from other musicians....At one church that I no longer play at, I started to ocassionally work in my Hanewinckel 6 string, usually just at rehearsal. The other musicians thought the idea of a 6 string bass was cool, but were quite clear and unanimous in their preference for the Mark King / Series II 5 string. Once I played the Hanewinckel at a service and immediately after the service one of the parishioners commented that the Alembic sounded much better. He basically said that he could hear the Hanewinckel, but he could feel the Alembic.

Hey Jerome,

While your at it, what are the specs on your Signature Deluxe? Clarke or King? # of strings? Are there construction pix in the Factory to Customer? Mine can be seen in the Mark King folder in the showcase.

Jerome there is nothing like the sound of a SERIES II bass on a Sunday morning or evening, filling the sanctuary with clear, warm, and fat ALEMBIC tone.

Hi James const. starts next week . But it will be a King signature deluxe 5 sting with side LED's 36 non tapered neck with either coco bolo or puprleheart top and back , I'm need more info on the type sound that puprle heart produce .

Jerome and other Gospel-players,
now this is something where we in Belgium experience a kind of culture shock reading all this stuff about playing in churches. Here, playing in chur'ches is rather boring with no swing to it whatsoever. I did it once in the period I went to church but it didn't made me feel the way you feel about it. Now, as far as we see things on television the church services in US are very different. I'm always jealous (as a white man) to see the joy the black people put out of their church services.
Anyway... it's one of the things I'm learning on this club ...and that's good!

If you can, go to amazon.com or borders.com and see if you can get your hands on videotapes of Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ Live and Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ Purpose By Design. Wonderful musicianship combined with enthusiastic praise. Ironically, Purpose By Design was filmed at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas. Hmmmm.

Hm, according to Phil Lesh, in the Grateful Dead in the early 60s they referred to their gigs as going to church. Was Phil the first person to play an Alembic in church?
