Yawn ...I'm going to sleep right away.
Alas on the rehearsal just an hour ago I got a problem with the 15. He kind of clicks on and off?? The leds on the Poweramp indicates that there was signal. A fuse? A wire? Really ennoying.
Brother Paul TGO it IS heavy indeed but ...there ARE wheels (I put them on myself) on the side. The flight case is heavy, especially the Dynacord!

I have to agree with you Jorge,any bass sound can be dialed in with Paul's outfit.I want that kind of versatility.By the way Paul,I use channel A to control low end and set it to band pass and channel B for high's set to low pass.The filter gain on each makes it easy to control.Sometimes when a group I play with gets a too loud complaint in a club setting,I just roll off a little channel A and that usually stops all complaints without the band having to adjust they're settings at all.Very handy trick.Plus you don't lose the tone and feeling with the SF-2.

Hi Brother Jorge,
thanbks for the nice words. I don't know if she's the most beautiful ?!?! In the way a S1 with S2 electronics can be modest she is. I have to admit that the reflections of the leafs lit by evening sun on het body give her some appeal ... mmmmm.
Brother Dave, I'm still in no-mans-land in the battle with that thing. The inconvenience with my Uno are troubling me now. I hope I can get it fixed quickly.

great news: there was just a tiny cable fell loose at the inside (at the speakon connection) what was fixed in 2 minutes and ...there I was again for a brand new rehearsal. Yesterday I was creating a Jack Bruce sound which I used the evening. Wow ...that brought on memories!!!! I was a huuuu-uge fan of him.

This is a common problem with Speakons--the wires attach to the cable mount connector with a pretty effective screw clamp. The problem is simply that the set screw isn't tight enough and consequently contact can become intermittent. The problem is most common on cables that have tinned ends--for these connectors bare wire works better. Checking the setscrews on your Speakons (and bananas, for that matter) is one of those things that should be on your periodic maintenance schedule.

Olive oil?Never heard of such.I use plenty of olive oil to cook with but never gave a thought to use it on the necks of my Alembic's.Extra virgin,regular,what?Very interesting development Paul.

huh-huh ...2 times a year. With a small paintbrush: Extra Virgine. Not too much. Without the strings. I just let it dry and wipe off the rest with household paper.

Well I'll be dipped in dog plop.I'll give it a try.I don't cook with anything but olive oil so I have plenty.Just came back from visiting Kenny Brack in a rehab hospital by the way and he looked and acted way better than I thought he would.He's is old self 'cept for a few broken bones.He want's to thank everybody for thinking about him.The IRL website had 8 million hits the Monday after the crash.Almost as amazing as the fact that he is still alive.

Here's another story!
I just obtained (for 105$) a Squier Fender Jazz-bass. The thing played like shit and sound as crap but looks great.
Now -thanks to Brother Joey's fine set-up routine- the thing plays lile silk and sound like crap and still looks good. Well ...I'll put it trough Tweak Peaks and I think it will change a bit.
But (ahlaalala ...that but), I gave the fingerboard (what is in Rosewood I think) a Olive oil threatment. That board was not taking care for in YEARS. Well ...brothers and sisters ...you ought to see that neck ...oh-my-oh-my-my ...soooo sweet.

Hi Bones,

Yes I did ...but honestly, there is a huuuuuu-uge financial restriction. I f I had the money I would certainly try it and than consequently use the SF-2 also in Stereo. The F2-B could also be an option. For some reason I never went on that road.
Anyway ...I?m in the middle of a hell of a tweak.
Most of the people I met ARE impressed indeed but other bass-players don?t like the set (and the guitar) because there are too much knobs. ?It has to be loud en low? is their reaction. I like to be in control. OTOH it SEEMS to be complicated but IT ISN?T. Even the SF-2 is ?learnable?. However, it TAKES time to find out what settings to use in what playing condition.
