Funny you should mention Earcandy...I just ran across them and spent some time on the phone with Tim, the owner (builder, promoter, etc...) of the company. He is a musician, sounds like a nice guy, prefers Eminence for bass and claims to have a design trick or two up his sleeve. I haven't heard his cabs nor even seen them. His 212 is similar in shape to the BagEnd - 28X18X16 - with the 12's side by side.
Are you considering the BassBomb configuration with one Delta lf and a Gamma (800w)? or are you thinking of 2 Delta lf's (1000w). I'm intrigued by his notion that even w/o a tweeter, the Gamma brings in enough high end to a cab. His prices are attractive and his cabinet appointments (naughyde in sexy colors, etc is kind of cool).
I'd be interested if anyone else around here has heard anything or tried an EarCandy cab.
Another cabinet builder in the same price range with a similar, Eminence for bass philosophy is Dr Bass. I'm seriously considering having them build a 212 to match their 12/6/tweeter cab I've been playing. Unfortunately, their website is under construction, so all you can see is cabinet specs and prices (all much lower than the names - but offering good quality and the flexibility a small builder offers). Marc Serio is the owner - call him if you are interested. You'll find he's willing to help you figure out what you want and will build almost any driver configuration you ask for. The web address is drbasscabs.com.
