I have been getting spoiled by the two things I thought I wouldn't use... the fret LED's and the effects loop. Last night I was messing around with a GNX3000 and loved how I could run it through the guitar. The more I play the guitar, the more enamored I become with it. Also, those fret LED's are great as I can see them out of the corner of my eye and they stand out. Not being a spectacular player, they help me keep track of where I am.
