Hal,

It takes a big man to apologize, that's for certain.  I also apologize for anything that I might've said that was misconstrued in any way, and I certainly didn't mean to make any unjust accusations.  From what I've seen in your posts, since, in your FTC Thread, especially, I see a very interesting, imaginative, positive person who takes great joy in music and the act of creation.  You've really done something unique in your creation of the Toma-Hawk, and I applaud you for it.

Hopefully we'll get to meet at the Cincinnati Gathering!

By the way, everyone my drummer won't want to miss this one, so hopefully we'll be able to arrange for him to come so he can do a little drumming in support of all us Alembicians!

Peace;)

No need to apologize, your actions were admiral, and justified. It was me, that was clearly wrong.

Thanks for helping me get up, to stand up again, but wiser this time... .

Frank, I love Cincinnati. I am going to be peeping for the gathering. I live in Cali so, it might be a little bit of a challenge for me.

Thank you very much, for the kind words on the Toma_Hawk bass. I would love to have Bootsy jam this bass... D'oh!!! His space bass might get jealous

Peace.

Hal,

We're all human (except Bootsy, of course, I think he's from the Planet Funk or something, lol) and I really hope to see you at the Cincy Gathering, wherever it may happen to occur.  It would be great to meet Bootsy (again- I have a funny story about that, that I'll have to share with the Club, sometime...) but it would be just as great to meet anyone and everyone who owns an Alembic and can make it to Bootsy's hometown- I also love Cincy- there's a lot of cool venues out there, and a pretty vibrant music scene.  We've played up there, with Freekbass, and we've also been up there for the Midpoint Music Festival, and at least one other thing, over at the Mad Frog.

Still waiting to hear back from either Freekbass or Bootsy...

And I'm sure Bootsy would immediately fall in love with the Tomahawk, which might present somewhat of a problem, LOL!

Peace All;)

Hey Frank, I just got off the phone with Mica today, (on the the topic of the Toma_Hawk bass), and she said if very-very-very lucky, the bass would be ready, before Thanksgiving.

My instincts tells me, the bass would probably be ready sometime 2010.

So, if you run into Bootsy before my bass is made, ask him if he would like to be the first Superhero to play the Toma_Hawk bass.

P.S.
I wonder if Boosty could get a hold of Rodney Skeet Curtis too?

Hal, That would be so great if the Toma-Hawk was done before Thanksgiving.  If I run into Bootsy, I will for sure ask him that, for you.  Hopefully you'll be able to be there!

If anyone could get ahold of Rodney, it would Bootsy!

Still waiting to hear from either Freekbass or Bootsy...  Maybe I'll try Bootsy's Facebook page, he seems to be on there, more...

Does anyone have an idea of a date, yet?

Hal, shoot me an email, sometime, soon, okay?

Peace;)

Frank,

One thing I would advise to anyone who orders a custom Alembic...

?One minute of patience, ten years of peace?

I know all about patience.  I ordered mine nearly four years ago.  I'm still waiting for it! ;-)

BTW, from his picture, Big Tony is a guy I wouldn't want to piss off! ;-)  He looks like he could smack me down just by looking at me!

Alan,

Imagine going 20-something years without an Alembic.

That was my name, after I sold my first Series I.

The only thing that softened the blow, was being an electric guitar player.

Looking back, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because the bass was getting killed by 80's and 90's POP. Rap was killing the need for full bands in dance music.

You might find this hard to believe, even to this day, I had not listened to the music of Stanley Clarke since the early 1980's. But I digress...

All in all, after I found my 76, I was happy to see the things which were still consistent in my life without feeling like I missed out. Also, after 20 something years, you find your own signature sound, and leave the other stuff behind.

Yep, agree with Flip, this is an early PRS bass with the neck through design, three pickup + hum canceller at the rear of the bass.

Nice solo, great groove, Big Tony you are a funky man indeed.
