my first wife was working a lot and very agressive or angry when I buyed 2 alembics with MY money in 2 years. My actually wife is not working, she said do what you want my darling, your work for you and our home
;o))
Two positions, two wife, two mentality, two economic-social-religious origins.

I prefer my actual situation
Are you afraid by your wife ?

I just went ahead and did it.  It was my money after all, and she has hers.

Every bonus check for 20+ years was spent on vacations, fun stuff for her and then eventually the kids - almost on anything but me. And then when the time was right I applied The James Malthumb Sure Fire How To Get Your Bass By Trading Up approach, that helps ease the burden.

My Spouse-ectomy cost me two of my Alembics...and I wish I had them back...which is more than I can say about her.

So, the other night I'm headed out to a gig. While loading my truck I'm making those old man noises lifting my Acme B-2, my wife looks at me and says, can't we find you something lighter?
I really, really love my wife. Looking for a neo loaded cabinet(s)now. My last Alembic,  she bought me for my birthday.

Even though I earn the income for our family, the wife runs the household and I would never make a major purchase without her approval.  That being said, she understands how important music is to me and she has actually ENCOURAGED me to make many of my purchases.

I have to add that a couple of years ago my wonderful wife told me you really should have an old Martin and let me get a 1953 D-28.
